About LaBapps

My name is Nathan LaBar and I am a Marine Veteran, College Student (Graduate in August 2026), and the developer of Didido?. I have enjoyed working with computers since I was about 7 years old, but did not start my programming journey until I was 19 on deployment. I enjoy creating apps and prototypes that I would use in my daily life. Besides programming and schoolwork, I played for the FAU men's rugby team. I recently started a physical media music collection consisting of CDs and intend to create my own streaming library.

Why Didido?

Didido? was an unplanned inspiration that occurred when my girlfriend was frustrated trying to remember when the last time she had a car wash or replaced her water filter was. I instantly thought of a cars dashboard and lights that turn on at set intervals / when something needs to be done. I instantly went about designing how I would want to implement Didido?. With the help of Cursor, I quickly created a prototype and she really enjoyed the app and it became a priority for me to actually publish it on the App Store. It was exciting and a great learning experience to build an app I would use from the ground up and see it in the App Store.

Other Projects in Progress

  • OnTrak Live - App that allows users to view tasks and complete tasks from their lock screen!
    • The current issue is using Firebase as a backend costs money based on usage and secrets. The main functionality of the app works around the APNS service since Apple does not allow live activities otherwise. There are currently bugs between the live activity and in app completions, usually revolving around how long the Activity has been active. Contact me to be added to the testflight group!
  • Personal Media Library - App that allows me to view my digital media library and play music from my phone!
    • The app is currently in the design stage, I have yet to write code. This is a future project that I will work on when I have more time.
  • Rush N' Attack Arcade Game - Using and FPGA and emulator I want to create an arcade game machine!
    • Currently I have the code written that allows the game visuals/main screen to be displayed on a TV that has a vga port. The next steps are to connect and program the controls and have the game logic run on the FPGA.
  • Personal Website - I have a very basic personal website that I should probably update... but I have been having more fun doing other projects. Whoops! Heres the link: https://labarnathan.github.io
